Job Description
The Benefits Account Manager provides service to the group client at the time of new business placement or at renewal and as required throughout the year. General service duties are completing the group client requests and assisting producers as needed in distributing benefit information to potential and existing group clients. The Benefits Account Manager will serve as liaison between the insurance carriers and group clients to ensure timeliness of claim payments, and overall benefit plan implementation under the leadership of the Benefits Consultant.
Major Responsibilities include:
• Administer contract renewals and prepare contractual changes.
• Develop and maintain excellent business partnerships.
• Develop employee memorandum drafts for client to communicate annual renewal changes, enrollment procedures, miscellaneous benefit changes and/or clarifications.
• Educate, advise and be a technical expert for clients on all Compliance topics including, but not limited to, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform.
• Establish additional group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients effectively utilizing resources to match client needs.
• Facilitate and attend client meetings on site at their location(s). Overnight travel may be required.
• Remain flexible to work on additional projects that support the overall development and advancement of the Employee Benefits team.
• Identify, report, and resolve client concerns while adhering to the company's culture, mission, and future staffing needs.
• Maintain client service calendar and renewal timelines to provide reminders through various forms of contact such as: electronic, via telephone and in person.
• Negotiate contracts with carrier as needed
• Oversee a sizeable portfolio of clients located locally and nationally with various funding processes, advanced contract features and structures that require advanced level experience and technical knowledge.
• Prepare agendas, reports, calendars, custom reports, etc.
• Promote collaboration by sharing experiences, assisting others when help is needed and preserving a constructive and professional attitude.
• Provide solutions to clients and insurance carriers using quality customer service by providing clear communication and timely responses.
• Review client materials and provide feedback to senior staff regarding strategic vision, changes, or next steps in union with or independently from the Benefits Producer.
• Support and oversee employee issues regarding enrollment and billing as requested by the Benefit Resource Center when issues are escalated.
• Work independently to schedule and conduct client meetings to provide strategic guidance and financial reporting.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.Qualifications
The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator, intellectually curious and have a strong work ethic. The individual must be an independent thinker and self-starter with the bandwidth to multitask and work on several key projects at a given time. The individual must be comfortable working in a high-energy, quickly changing and demanding environment.

• Project Management. Strong project management acumen and expertise; experience in professional services/consulting highly desired.
• Business/Financial Acumen. Strong business and financial acumen and understanding of finance/corporate planning processes and business strategy; excellent comprehension of industry issues and business trends.
• Integrity. Unquestionable integrity. Will display and operate in a way that never compromises ethics and integrity.Experience and Education:
• 5+ years of experience administering US Group Health and Welfare Programs
• Experience in the development and delivery of technology solutions that enable and enhance the execution of a corporation’s benefit programs.
• Experience with administration of Short- and Long-Term Disability programs; outsourcing experience with these programs highly desired.
• Experience with M&A due diligence and integration.
• BA/BS in related field (preferred)
• 2-15 Life, Health and Variable Annuity Insurance License (required)Office Locations: Sunrise, FL and Miramar, FL
